Project Summary: Teaching Hospital
Project Objective:
Work with a Quality Action Team to combine job functions in the nursing units so the client can simultaneously reduce cost and improve patient outcomes.
Methodology:
Employed brain storming and other quality improvement techniques to identify and prioritize alternatives. Then applied classic financial analysis tools to predict the impact of various actions.
Results:
This team had been working without measurable results for 15 months when I became involved. In 3 months, meeting every 2–3 weeks for 1.5 hours, we have identified four specific areas where improvements could be effected.
